District 13 is the geographic region designated by the General Service Conference of Alcoholics Anonymous World Services.  It is also referred to as the District.  https://www.aa.org/  https://www.aanorthflorida.org/

  

The District 13 Committee Members

The District Committee is comprised of the District Officers, Committee Chairpersons, General Service Representatives and the DCM as Member at Large.  All members shall be sober members of Alcoholics Anonymous.

District 13 includes the following Committee Chairs (pgs S61-S62, The Conference Committees and Secondary Committees):

Accessibilities:  This Chair deals with how to carry the message to those who have problems which limit their attendance at regular AA meetings, and also enlightens AA members and groups as to their special needs.

Corrections:  The Corrections Committee Chair deals with how to carry the message to those in jail or prison.

Grapevine/La Viña:  The Grapevine/La Viña Committee Chair educates the membership about our unique “Meeting in Print.” https://www.aagrapevine.org/

Intergroup Liaison:  The Intergroup Liaison shares information between Intergroup and the members of District 13, facilitating “sharing common problems and solutions.”  This position is only filled if and when Hernando County Intergroup does not provide a liaison.  In that case, District 13 will fill the position.

Literature:  The Literature Committee Chair informs groups or members through displays or other suitable methods, of all available Conference approved literature, audio visual material or other special items.

Public Information/Cooperation With The Professional Community:  The PI/CPC Committee Chair is concerned with carrying the message through the media.  PI educates AA members and groups about Alcoholics Anonymous.  The PI/CPC Committee Chair is in charge of the video library.  The Cooperation with the Professional Community arm of this committee deals with how to carry the message to the still-suffering alcoholic through third party professionals such as probation officers, clergy, doctors, etc.

Treatment:  The Treatment Committee Chair deals with how we carry the message to clients of treatment centers and other recovery institutions.
d oversees the District’s newsletter, which carries the message of Alcoholics Anonymous by providing a resource where alcoholics can get information about the activities and business of and within the District.  https://www.aa.org/pages/en_US/treatment-committees

Archives (Archivist):  This position will be elected by voting members of the District.  The Archivist will serve for at least a two (2) year, but not to exceed a six (6) year term.  This office does not have a vote at the District level.  https://www.aa.org/pages/en_US/archives-committees
